Webinars to prepare SMEs for year-end

January 8th, 2021

As the February 28 deadline for tax slips and RL-1 Summary production approaches, processing payroll can become a real headache for Canadian employers. At Nethris, we take the time to guide our clients.

In November, we offer online training that is specially designed for SMEs, during which we reveal the best course of action to close the year’s payroll seamlessly. Our clients discover certain simple steps that should be taken in the Nethris Internet Suite prior to ordering their income tax documents.

In 2020, in order to offer virtual bilingual sessions that would be more comprehensive and demystify COVID-19 repercussions on the year-end process, we decided to call on our partner Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s tax and accounting experts.

Specialists Pierre Garant and Pascal Leclerc therefore participated in our exclusive webinars to present the impact of telework on income tax and the new Canada Revenue Agency requirements stemming from the support measures.

They touched on subjects such as the new T4 reporting requirements pertaining to the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), as well as the simplified method for claiming office expenses on the T2200 form. They also proposed remuneration strategies for managing shareholders and gave advice on split income and corporate tax.

Close to 1200 businesses participated in our four-hour webinars. Will you be among them next year?
